Yesterday, the Rector and Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia agreed unanimously to reinstate President Teresa Sullivan as President of the University. This came after a tumultuous two weeks during which the board originally agreed to ask for Sullivan’s resignation. Last night’s decision came on the heels of the Governor of the Commonwealth threatening to remove the entire board if there was not immediate closure to the situation.

I read an interesting article in the New York Times recently by David Bornstein regarding the success of the Nurse Family Partnership that reportedly has serious implications for the early childhood educational community. The Partnership model, which was developed by David Olds, includes the implementation of a nurse home visitation intervention program for first time mothers in high-risk communities.
